CableGen is an intranet solution designed to manage IT assets, cabling and their interconnectivity. Based on the latest server based web technology, it is easy to document complex infrastructures, locate devices, how equipment connects to the network and show dependencies. Overview

Based on Microsoft SQL Server and .NET technology, CableGen enables the infrastructure to be documented in a structured way and linked to existing databases, graphics and documents. CableGen's flexible architecture enables you save on the cost of moves and changes, and reduces the need to audit devices regularly. You may use CableGen to:

• Document multisite and campus cabling infrastructures to reduce site surveys
• Manage copper, fibre, wireless, voice, LAN, WAN, servers - all in one system
• Associate technical and business information with each IT asset
• Centralise information about multiple sites and technologies
• Link additional device information such as configurations, diagrams, floor plans and project notes
• Trace the path from a device to network port within seconds
• Optimise IMAC processes (Install, Move, Add, Change)
• Create work orders for changes without needing to undertake site surveys
• Find spare capacity and produce inventories of infrastructure devices
• Re-use the asset information for PAT testing, security, billing, DR, maintenance coverage, etc.
